Case StudyBraywick Sports Ground - Fence UpgradeThe Betta Group has recently been successful in tendering for a contract to replace the boundary fences around Braywick Sports Ground, for the Royal Borough Council of Windsor & Maidenhead. The Ground is a key multi-sporting facility within the, Maidenhead area and many local clubs use it for a variety of sports including rugby, hockey, football, and athletics. The tender was fiercely contested by five Companies but the Betta Group was the most competitive due to the Groups buying power and the technical ability to supply the client with drawings and clear specifications of what the company was offering. The specification for the replacement fence was very stringent and the Betta Group upgraded the standard 1800 high Betta Ultra Steel Palisade Fence pale, to a 3.0mm thick ‘W’ section, in order to comply.
The Contract, worth over £40,000, was for the replacement and upgrade of the old dilapidated and insecure boundary fence around the Ground. The Betta Group dismantled and removed to a licensed tip, 629 linear metres of old boundary fence and supplied and installed 629 linear metres of 1800 high Betta Ultra Steel Palisade Fence galvanised and powder coated green RAL 6005.
The Company also supplied and installed two galvanised steel and powder coated green, gate arches 3.0 metres wide and 3.0 metres high; within the bowed top of the arch was set “BRAYWICK”, in 150 mm high lettering.
The fencing upgrade has enabled the Sports Ground Administrators to restrict pedestrian access to the official entry points, thereby improving not only the security for the users, but the infrastructure as well. Vehicle access has been strictly controlled by the Betta Group installing anti-ram telescopic bollards under the two gate arches of the outlying official entry pints. |
